Theme:  Christian Life

We cannot Live the Christian Life Without God and His Strength

Need a laundry basket and a very small child.

John 15:5–"Without Me ye can do nothing."

We think we can do a lot of good things without the Lord’s help, but we really can’t. When we try to do things on our own we don’t do very well.

We need His strength or else we will fail.

We cannot live the life that God wants us to live without His help and His strength.

Pick a small child. And have a laundry basket.

Have the child get into the laundry basket and hold onto the two handles.

"Now, I want you to lift yourself up. Grab the handles tight and use your strength and lift yourself up. Can you do it?"

After the child realizes that it’s impossible to do this, then have the child put both hands on your shoulders (to help the child with balance) and grab the handles and lift the child up.

The child could not do it on his (her) own but needed help and needed the strength of someone else.

See Deuteronomy 33:27—"The eternal God is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms."

We need God’s arms under us to support us and lift us and give us strength to live a life that pleases Him. Without Him we can do nothing!
